I like this heating pad. It is a good size for draping over a shoulder or for wrapping around an arm or a leg. It is very plush and bendable. It has six heat settings and four timer cycles (30-120min). I tried it on my neck several times as it was sore when I awoke... and after about an hour on setting 3, the pain was much better. This one heated up faster than some of the others, and it was quite hot at setting four... it heats up much faster than it cools down. I did test the two hour auto-shutoff default and it worked - as did the other timer settings.
The cord is detachable for washing, but I only use it with a layer of fabric between me and the pad... so I doubt I will ever attempt it as I am uncomfortable washing and drying electrical devices like this. If you are in the market for something to provide heat to help with pain relief or to help heat you up in a hurry, this product works well. It is a good value at less than 21USD...I am rating this four stars, as it heats up well, relieves muscle tightness, is soft and flexible for positioning, and does it job. If it had a wipeable plastic pad with a washable microfiber sleeve/case, I think it would be much easier to clean without concern... it the meantime, I will use disinfectant between uses. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary...
