Over 30+ years ago we joked about whoever
left first, one of us would sing this song to the other.
Well, I guess I'm up my friend...
Jim was born in Beachwood, NJ on June 22nd 1953.
He attended St. Joseph Grade School in Toms River, NJ until the family moved to Lakewood. There he attended St. Mary's until switching to the Lakewood school system. He graduated from LHS in 1971,
and went on to major in Psychology and Sociology at Ocean County College for 2 years.Jim was one of the most easy going people I've ever met. A hard working man, contractor & owner of JJE Construction for over 3 decades in Denver, CO. When not at work, he loved hunting, fishing, shooting darts & playing his harmonica. He Loved Hearing Lee Greenwood Sing "God Bless The USA" On Memorial Day & July 4th Since 1984.
Jim was a proud life long member in the Elks & the NRA. If you had a minute, he'd share stories of his 5 trips to New Zealand, which he loved. He leaves behind many friends, and his Soul Mate & Love Of His Life Willie Mead.

Jim was a big Allman Brothers Band fan along with Lynyrd Skynyrd, and later...Gov't Mule. For a while back in the late 80's, he had my old rock & roll ass listening to lots of country music. I took to lovin' that real quick!
He became an instant fan of my Cousin Matt Pillion's band Stolen Rhodes, after the first listen.
Willie, Jim, Connie and I caught the shows when they came to Denver & Evergreen Colorado. All in all, his real love was Bob Wills music.
Willie Lambert & "Bones" (as Willie called him) were working the railroad in Texas in the mid 70's, when they attended their first
Bob Wills Day Festival in Turkey, TX.
They'd return many times in April over the years.

Bob Wills, the King of Western Swing
"Take me back to Texas" where the music Swings & Bob Wills is still the King. Bob Wills Day: Turkey, TX – The small West Texas town of Turkey, Texas has welcomed tens of thousands of attendees to the annual Bob Wills Day festival since 1972. From as far away as Australia, England, Germany and Japan, attendees range from babies to 90-year-old "dancers."
1974 I was back in Lakewood visiting & heard the
news Jim's Mom, Grace had passed away. At that time we made a pact, to be there for each other.
I went back to Denver and I think Jim went back to Pecos.
Fast Forward....We're both living in Denver for 7-8 years now.
1989 Jim's Dad Frank died. We both flew to NJ.
1991 My Dad Charlie died. Connie, Jim & Me flew to NJ.
1999 My Mom Lil died. Connie, Jim & Me flew to NJ.
Aint That A True Friend? You bet it is.
So here's to Grace, Lil, Frank & Charlie: ♪♫♪
